Dakereon Joyner is a well-known and respected name in the Columbia area. He's stayed loyal and faithful to the Gamecocks since the day he committed on June 18th, 2017. Dakereon Joyner has seen it all through different coaching changes, trials, and tribulations. That may be his most significant advantage for the Gamecocks this coming season. Having played both quarterback and receiver, here are some key contributions he can take from his experiences and apply this season:

1. Versatility

Having played both quarterback and wide receiver, Dakereon understands offensive schemes, routes, and play-calling. This understanding can give him an edge as a running back, allowing him to anticipate plays more effectively and react quickly to changes on the field.

2. Running Ability

As a quarterback, Dakereon has had opportunities to scramble and make plays with his feet, especially being a dual-threat QB. These experiences will translate directly to the running back position, where speed, agility, and the ability to read blocks are crucial.

3. Pass Catching

His experience as a wide receiver will be more invaluable than some may think. Providing an option out of the backfield gives this Gamecocks offense one more potential threat the defense will have to worry about.
