Shane Beamer hasn't lost many coaches from his inaugural staff at South Carolina, with the only coaches to depart being Outside linebackers coach Mike Peterson and tight end coach Erik Kimrey in the 2021 offseason and offensive coordinator and quarterback coach Marcus Satterfield back in late November. Now for just the fourth time since the official beginning of his tenure, Coach Beamer will be searching for a new on-field assistant as per On3's Matt Zenitz, interior defensive line coach Jimmy Lindsey is leaving to take the same position with the LSU Tigers.

While not the coach who brought in Zacch Pickens and Jabari Ellis, Lindsey played a key role in their development, which led to Ellis signing an UDFA contract with the New York Giants after the 2022 NFL Draft, and will likely lead to Zacch Pickens being selected between the second and fourth rounds of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Where Jimmy Lindsey's loss will be felt the most is through the Gamecocks recruiting efforts, as the North Carolina native was the primary recruiter for 2023 blue-chip signees Xzavier McLeod and Elijah Davis, and assisted in helping South Carolina land Jalon Kilgore, Vicari Swain and current 2024 commit Josiah Thompson.

Considering the fact the staff is currently out on the road visiting high schools and evaluating prospects, I would expect Shane Beamer to still do his due diligence, but not wait too long to hire a new interior defensive line coach.
