Former Gamecocks Earn Senior Bowl Honors

South Carolina's Darius Rush and Zacch Pickens were some of the best performers at the Reese's Senior Bowl practices this week.

It's an important time of the offseason for future NFL draft hopefuls as they participate in different all-star games and look to impress prospective NFL coaches and scouts in attendance. The biggest all-star game that normally takes place in this stretch of the offseason is the Reese's Senior Bowl, one in which former Gamecock stars Darius Rush and Zacch Pickens are playing.

Both of these South Carolina natives have impressed everyone this week, with Rush showing a propensity to both lock down his matchup and make plays on the football, while Pickens has overwhelmed offensive linemen with his overall explosiveness and the power he exerts at the point of attack.

While both have been noted as standouts by draft analysts and other media members alike, their teammates for the week have also taken notice. When it was time to vote on the players of the week for their respective position group, players on the American team voted for both Rush and Pickens.

Pickens and Rush will have the chance to cap off what's been a great week, alongside teammate and late addition Jovaughn Gwyn, when they play in the actual Reese's Senior Bowl on Saturday at 2:30 pm EST on the NFL Network.
