With Shane Beamer and the South Carolina Gamecocks having Dante Reno in the fold for the 2024 class, they find themselves in an envious position, being able to go ahead and scout quarterbacks from both the 2025 and 2026 recruiting cycles respectively. One of those quarterbacks from the 2025 class is Mississippi native Deuce Knight, who's already grabbed the attention of multiple SEC programs.

Knight made his first trip down to Columbia this past Saturday for the Gamecocks' annual Garnet and Black Spring game, and left being impressed with every aspect of his visit.

"My visit was great from the campus tour, facility tour, meetings, and the game," Knight told me after his visit. "It was great and they really impressed me at South Carolina"

One thing that really stuck out to Deuce was the atmosphere the Spring game possessed, giving him insight into just how serious South Carolina fans are about their football program.

"The atmosphere was crazy! Over 50,000 people at a spring game is wild and it was loud all night from start to finish. It impressed me how passionate the fans are about Gamecock football."

To this point in the recruiting process, teams like Tennessee, Auburn, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Notre Dame and others have extended offers to the rising junior. While South Carolina hasn't extended one of their own just yet, that's expected to change very soon, and Knight made it clear that once that happens, the Gamecocks will be high up on his list.

"When they do offer me, they will be up in the mix and will be a major contender for me."
