Where Will Josiah Thompson Commit?

Sometimes in high school football recruiting, there's a collective or overall position group, either nationally or positionally, that captures the attention of both fans and recruiting analysts alike. In the case of the state of South Carolina in the 2024 recruiting cycle, it's the offensive line position, with three potential Power Five stars all residing within the Palmetto state's borders; Kam Pringle, Josiah Thompson and Blake Franks.
Lonnie Teasley, Greg Adkins and the rest of the staff have already put a dent into this aforementioned group, having landed the pledges of Kam Pringle and Blake Franks within the past three months. On Friday morning, they could potentially sweep the state's top offensive line group with a commitment from Josiah Thompson.
Thompson is an offensive tackle for the 3A Dillon Wildcats, a high school football program that's been quite kind to the South Carolina Gamecocks in the past, as they yielded four commitments between the years of 2012 and 2014, and could be a contender for a promising future quarterback prospect in Josiah Oxendine. Listing himself at 6'7, 280 pounds on twitter, Thompson has earned 21 Power 5 offers, including nine SEC schools like Georgia, Alabama, LSU, and Auburn, along with other college football powers like Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Florida State and Clemson.

In terms of who will land this mammoth talent, all signs point to the Gamecocks being the pick here. Due to the amount of visits Josiah has taken to Columbia (which according to On3 Sports is 17!), the close proximity to home, and the offensive line being a position of need, the GamecocksDigest Staff believes the "Great Wall Of Carolina" will add the final piece to the puzzle later this morning.
