In a game that really doesn't do anything for the national landscape due to the fact that both teams are out of bowl contention, Stanford and Cal are facing off for the 125th edition of The Big Game.

A rivalry matchup that is one of the most underrated, as regardless of record there is always room for something chaotic to happen. This year's rendition happens to be the 40th anniversary of "The Play", when Stanford's band ran onto the field getting in the way of a five-lateral kickoff return that won the 1982 Big Game for Cal.

Just because these two teams didn't have the season they had hoped doesn't mean that this game won't be entertaining. So, here is everything you need to know whether it be where to watch, weather, and of course the betting odds for all my degenerates.

WEATHER FORECAST: Saturday afternoon will be sunny with the a high of 66 degrees coming at about kickoff time. The temperature will drop to about 52 degrees by the time the game is over. There is no chance of rain.

CAL-STANFORD HISTORY: The first Cal-Stanford game was played on March 19, 1892, and Stanford leads the all-time series 65-48-11. Cal won last year’s game 41-11 at Stanford, with the road team winning each of the past four Big Games.

While Cal's star running back Jadyn Ott hasn't popped off lately due to other teams keying in on him, he may have a huge day against Stanford if they cannot slow down the run. Ott has accumulated 745 yards and seven touchdowns on 139 carries, while averaging 5.4 yards per carry. He also has 35 catches for 219 yards and two touchdowns. The Cardinal have struggled mightily against the run the past few weeks, giving up an average of 303 rushing yards, but if you can limit Ott Cal has yet to show they can win without a good Ott performance.

In terms of offense, like I mentioned in my three keys to winning the game, Stanford needs a monster game from Tanner McKee and the passing game. Hell, maybe even an above average game would do the trick, as Cal struggles to defend the pass coming in at No. 126 in passing yards allowed with 11.5 yards per completion and 289 yards passing allowed per game. This could certainly be a bounce back game for McKee who hasn't completed 60% of his passes in five weeks and has thrown just one touchdown since Week 6.

Other things too look out for: David Shaw's job security. I along with another reporter asked him on Tuesday about being on the hot seat, and he declined to comment.
