In February, Syracuse offered 2027 offensive lineman Nico Ramos and immediately locked him in for an official visit on the weekend of June 6.

In the meantime, the Orange welcomed Ramos on campus over the weekend for spring practice, and he got to check out the facilities, see campus and get a better understanding of the SU program.

“It was amazing,” Ramos said to The Juice Online. “I think very highly of them.”

Ramos connects with the SU staff

Ramos was offered by new SU offensive line coach Juan Castillo in February, and the two got to connect on the trip. In particular Ramos got a feel for how Syracuse trains its players and gets them ready for the football season and also for the next level.

"Watching coach Castillo coach and watching coach Fran Brown run his program were great,” Ramos said.

Both coaches spoke extensively with Ramos during the trip.

“We spoke about my future and where they see me as a player in their program,” Ramos said. "I think coach Brown is making the program into something special and I think they're going to be great.”

Ramos updates his recruitment

Aside from the Orange, Ramos has also set official visits for Northwestern (April 17), Virginia Tech (May 29) and Duke (June 19). Ramos holds well over two dozen offers but Syracuse has separated themselves from the bunch for the Plantation (FL) American Heritage star.

"They stand at the top of my board,” Ramos said.

He has a strong idea of when he’ll announce his school.

"I plan on making a decision after I've taken all my visits,” Ramos said.

Ramos is a versatile offensive lineman

Ramos' Patriots team had a 9-5 record in the 2025 season, and was essential in blocking for an offensive unit that rushed for 1,441 yards and passed for 2,972 yards. His team ended up capturing the Florida 4A State Title.

"Personally my season went great,” Ramos said. "I got better with every game and I was fortunate enough to be able to play against the best competition in the country, as well as being able to help my team to back-to-back state titles."

Ramos has been highly coveted because he is a versatile offensive lineman.

"I can play all five positions on the line,” Ramos said. "I believe I bring an extra edge to my game from being a multi sport athlete."
