2029 two-way star Kade Gibbs has already gotten to know Syracuse very well during his recruitment.

The Spring Grove (PA) High running back/linebacker has already come to Central New York four times—twice for game days and two other times for spring practices.

He was just on the Syracuse campus over the weekend, and his fourth trip will be one he doesn’t forget anytime soon since he came away with his fifth offer.

"It felt really good to get the offer,” Gibbs said to The Juice Online. "This is my fifth offer, and it’s a blessing and something I’ve been working toward, so I’m very grateful for the opportunity.”

Gibbs discusses his relationship with the SU staff

Aside from the offer, Gibbs got to deepen his relationships with the coaching staff. He said he spoke the most with Emmanuel Marc, Fran Brown, Jeff Nixon and Stack Williams.

He received his offer from Dennis Thomas.

"I spoke with coach Thomas about how they would see me fitting into their system, what they look for in players at my position, and what I can work on to keep improving my game,” Gibbs said. "Just being able to get a feel for the program in person was great.”

That ended up being his top highlight from the trip.

“Spending time around the coaches and players and seeing how they operate on a daily basis,” Gibbs said. "The overall atmosphere on campus and the facilities also stood out a lot.”

Gibbs talks about his recruitment

That all left a great impression on Gibbs as he prepares for his sophomore season.

"I think the SU program is a great place with strong coaching, good energy, and a great atmosphere,” Gibbs said. "I like the environment and how they focus on building relationships.”

The Syracuse offer adds to a list that also includes Maryland, Georgetown, UConn and Temple.

"It feels good to have five offers,” Gibbs said. "I’m thankful for all the schools that have shown interest, and it motivates me to keep working harder.”

Gibbs had a breakout freshman year

He’s coming off a season where he had 520 yards and was a huge factor in Spring Grove making it to the playoffs.

"I saw improvement from previous years, and I’m going to keep working to get better,” Gibbs said. "I’m always working to improve.”

Gibbs is currently being recruited on the offensive side of the ball, and describes himself as downhill runner who can get shifty when needed.

"I run physical, hit the hole hard, and can make defenders miss in space,” Gibbs said. "I also have good vision and in the backfield, and I’m able to help in the passing game when needed. I focus on protecting the ball, and doing whatever helps the offense."
