No. 20 Texas A&M Baseball Weekend Preview: Vanderbilt Commodores

Riding on a six-game winning streak after their midweek victory over the Sam Houston State Bearkats Tuesday night, the No. 20 Texas A&M Aggies now shift their focus to their conference series for the weekend that will see them host the Vanderbilt Commodores.
The Commodores were also successful during their midweek game, an 11-3 win over Belmont, and are currently riding a five-game winning streak as they sit 18-12 (5-4 SEC) overall in the 2026 season.
Both teams are also riding into the weekend looking to achieve their second straight sweeps, as Texas A&M handled Missouri with ease in Columbia last weekend, and the 'Dores took down rivals Tennessee in all three games that combined for a total of 35 innings, including the second game which lasted 16 frames and resulted in a 6-5 win by Vandy.

The Aggies and Commodores will meet for the 30th time when Shane Sdao fires his first pitch Thursday night, with the Maroon and White holding a lead in the all-time series with a 16-13 record, including a 7-2 record when in College Station against Tim Corbin's team.
A&M's recent string of wins has brought on a resurgence of power in the bat of first baseman Gavin Grahovac. After missing nearly all of 2025 with a shoulder injury, and a slow start in terms of home runs to begin 2026, Grahovac has been nothing short of phenomenal with his power, with five home runs in the past three games.
Freshman third baseman Nico Partida has also been quite the highlight for the Aggies at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 at the dish during Texas A&M's 16-2 win Tuesday night.
