Texas A&M's Terry Bussey Has Completely Changed His Body Before the 2026 Season

Could we be seeing a new side out of the Timpson, TX native?

In this story:

With the 2026 season opener for the Texas A&M Aggies sitting just two weeks away, it is crunch time for teams to figure out who is going to start during their Week 1 contests (or "Week 0" for that matter), and there might not be a tighter race for starting wide receiver spots than what the Texas A&M Aggies currently have going on.

For one receiver, Terry Bussey, he is a part of a stacked A&M corps that includes veterans such as Isaiah Horton and Mario Craver, but that hasn't stopped him from trying to prove his worth amongst the pass catchers on the team.

In fact, what he's doing off the field might be slightly more impressive than on it.

"Best My Body Has Felt Since I've Gotten to College"

After A&M's practice Friday, the Timpson native opened up to the media about how he's been taking care of his body and building it up as the season's commencement sits just around the corner.

"I probably gained about 10 pounds over the year, and my body feels stronger, and I stayed at the same percentage body fat-wise," Bussey said. "Now, I'm just getting my body stronger and feeling right, overall learning what my body can take, and being able to take more and more plants, more cuts, more hits, stuff like that."

Bussey also disclosed the severity of a lower-body injury that he suffered last spring, but luckily didn't keep him down for too long.

"I had a little ankle injury in the spring, which set me back a little bit," said the wideout. "But I got back from that really really really quick, so it wasn't too bad, wasn't too major."

The receiver and return specialist summed up his offseason with some hopeful words, saying how great overall his body felt, in fact, the best he's felt since coming to College Station.

"It was a big offseason for me, and this is probably the best my body has felt since I've gotten to college," Bussey said. "Just overall, this summer and this spring, I was working on being a better receiver overall at the line of scrimmage, moving people in my routes, being able to create separation and stuff like that."

The junior was quiet in 2025 with 18 catches for 195 yards, but he was able to contribute to the Aggies' total points with a touchdown reception against Utah State in Week 2.

And if he keeps having the Fall Camp that he's been having, he could very much be on his way into WR3 territory.
