College World Series Sunday Results: Hoos Sent Home

The "Greatest Show on Dirt" continues in Omaha. On Sunday, there were two games from Bracket One played. The trend of one-run games continued, with both games determined by just one run. With six games played so far, five of them were one-run games.
Omaha has given us five 1-run games.

We've seen the (likely) top 3 picks in the draft, and many other first rounders.
We have one of the most talented Cinderellas in the history of the sport.
And there's more to come. It's only day 3.
In the first game of the day, TCU defeated No. 7 Virginia 4-3. The Hoos were the first of the Omaha octet to be sent home. No. 2 Florida faced a gritty Oral Roberts team and survived with a 5-4 win.
TCU and Oral Roberts will have an Omaha rematch on Tuesday at 1 p.m. CT. The loser will be eliminated. The winner will face Florida on Wednesday at 1 p.m. CT.
College World Series Game Five
TCU (1-1) 4 - No. 7 Virginia (0-2) 3
Both teams got two hits and one run in the 1st inning. After that, it just became a tense dual between these two teams. Virginia came into the game with a nation-leading team batting average of .344. The TCU pitching staff of Sam Stoutenborough, Garrett Wright, and Ben Abeldt held the Hoos to only five hits.
Cole Fontenelle had two RBIs to lead the Frogs. Elijah Nunez and Austin Davis had the other two. The Frogs had 12 hits in the game.

College World Series Game Six
No. 2 Florida (2-0) 5 - Oral Roberts (1-1) 4
Florida held off a late surge from the Golden Eagles to advance to the winner's bracket. The game started as a close game, with Florida scoring two runs in the top of the 2nd, and Oral Roberts getting a solo homer in the bottom of the 2nd. After that, Florida would pad their lead with a three-run 4th inning.
The Gators would maintain that 5-1 lead until the bottom of the 7th. And as other games this MCWS have gone, late-inning runs once again made an appearance. Oral Roberts would get two runs in the bottom of the 7th.
Florida then got themselves in a big jam in the bottom of the 8th with bases loaded. Florida coach Kevin O'Sullivan made a visit to the mound, but he had already met his allowable amount of visits. Florida was forced to remove closer Brandon Neely and replace him with Cade Fisher. Fisher had what was probably the most critical at bat in this MCWS so far and got the crucial out.

Oral Roberts would get a run in the bottom of the 9th to give Florida just the one-run lead. The Golden Eagles had two outs, the tying run on third, and the winning run on first when Jacob Godman came to the plate. He belted one to center field, and for a moment, it looked like there might be a walk-off, but the ball fell short and into the glove of centerfielder Michael Robertson.
Winning Pitcher: Hurston Waldrep; Losing Pitcher: Harley Gollert; Save: Cade Fisher
