Know Your Foe: Oklahoma Baseball Players to Watch

Key players from the Sooners you will need to know when they take on the TCU Horned Frogs this weekend.

The TCU Horned Frogs take on the Oklahoma Sooners on March 15-17. Here are some key Oklahoma baseball team players that TCU fans should know before the series.

Likely Pitching Rotation:

Friday- #13 Braden Davis

Junior Left-handed pitcher from Keller, Texas

The lefty has been one of Oklahoma's most reliable arms on their team and has played well this season. The 5'11" 175 lb. starter has provided long, solid innings for this team, allowing the Sooners to save pitchers for further on in the weekend. He does have a 4.74 ERA, but most of the damage came from a single game where he only lasted two innings.

Saturday- #30 Brendan Girton

Redshirt Junior Right-handed pitcher from Gage, Oklahoma

The right-hand Texas Tech transfer has a lot of potential but has yet to pitch more than four innings. The righty, Brendan Girton, stands at 6'0" 227 lbs. The Sooners will likely turn to him again this weekend in hopes of him giving at least four solid innings. He has maintained a 4.38 ERA so far this season. The Sooners will hope he can shut down this powerful TCU offense.

Sunday- #48 James Hitt

Redshirt Junior Left-handed pitcher from Magnolia, Texas

The 6'0", 193 lb. redshirt junior will likely get the nod on Sunday as he has been able to provide a solid amount of decent innings for this team. Since his first two outings, he has settled down. He has found somewhat of a rhythm and has allowed fewer runs. The Sooners will hope he can do this against the Frogs and hold them to as few runs as possible. Hilt has a 5.51 ERA, but it will likely continue to decrease the better he throws.
