TCU Baseball: Horned Frogs' Late Game Heroics Comes Up Short Against Louisville

No. 10 TCU came off an impressive shutout victory over Michigan heading into today's contest against No. 14 Louisville. The Frogs are competing in the Shriners Hospital for Children College Classic in Houston this weekend. Unfortunately, the offense came up short suffering a 3-2 loss Saturday.
Freshman Kole Klecker drew his first career start. He has been stellar out of the bullpen with his excellent command, throwing strikes early and often. However, things didn't go so well for the freshman. He went four innings surrendering nine hits on three runs (2 earned). He got the loss dropping his record to 2-1. Chase Hoover kept TCU in the game going four innings and no runs.
Great job by Chase Hoover to keep the Frogs in the game.

On the other side, it was Greg Farone who brought his A-game tossing seven innings giving up two hits on one run and striking out nine. Kuehner Tate got the six-out save.
Things were quiet in the first couple innings until Jack Payton hit a two-run shot to right field to give the Cardinals a 2-0 lead. They added another run in the fourth off a RBI double from Matt Klein.
TCU's offense struggled mightily in this game. Their first runs came off of a two-run homer from Karson Bowen to cut the lead to one. Bowen has had an impressive start to the season hitting .389. That was all the offense the Horned Frogs could muster leaving two on base in the ninth.
