TCU Baseball Wins Game 2 Against Kansas in Offensive Slugfest

A game fueled by offense saw the Horned Frogs leading the entire game en route to their fourth straight victory.

If you're ever looking for offense in a baseball game, look no further then the performance by the TCU Horned Frogs as they take Game 2 of the weekend series against Kansas 18-5.

TCU got busy early when the freshman Karson Bowen hit a three-run homer to left field to make it 3-0 Frogs. The home run marked the 10th consecutive game that a TCU player has left the yard. The Jayhawks had a nice response bringing the lead to one headed to the bottom of the second.

The Frogs found a variety of ways to score in the bottom of the second. Anthony Silva brought home Elijah Nunez on a throwing error to extend the lead to two. Brayden Taylor grounded out to first to bring home Silva. Luke Boyers scored on a wild pitch, Cole Fontenelle continued his fantastic series with an RBI double to right field and Bowen singled home a run to the left side.

In the bottom of the eighth, Tre Richardson scored all on his own. He got a single, advanced to second on a balk, stole third and scored on a wild pitch. It was a day where everything was going right for TCU.

Kole Klecker picked up the win for the Horned Frogs going seven innings giving up eight hits on two earned runs on five strikeouts. The freshman threw 101 pitches with 72 of them being strikes. As he's done all season long, he continued to pound the strike zone and stayed aggressive throughout. Mason Speaker and Justin Hackett closed out the final two frames.

With the win TCU improves their record to 14-9 with a 3-2 conference record. Cam Brown will likely toe the rubber for the Frogs tomorrow as they look to go for the sweep at 1 p.m.
