TCU Baseball Wins in Pitching Duel Over Baylor

It was a fantastic pitching effort from TCU en route to a closely contested 2-1 victory over Baylor. In games that the Horned Frogs desperately need to make a late-season playoff push, the pitching has been phenomenal.

On Friday, Louis Rodriguez went six innings, three hits, and a run with five strikeouts. Saturday, the freshman Kole Klecker went seven innings surrendering three hits on one earned run. Klecker dominated the strike zone and pitched to weak contact. His main issue this season has been the home run ball, but he was dialed in last night.

The Frogs took an early 2-0 lead in the second inning when Karson Bowen hit a sac fly to drive in Cole Fontenelle. Luke Boyers was the next batter, and he singled up the middle. The only run Baylor was able to salvage was in the seventh inning.

Luke Savage and Garrett Wright closed out the final two innings, with Wright getting three strikeouts. He has been excellent this season. He extended his scoreless inning streak to 15.2 innings dating back to April 1st.

TCU will look to sweep the series at 3 p.m. for Senior Day.
