TCU Baseball Completes the Sweep of Kansas Sunday

TCU completed the three-game sweep over conference rival Jayhawks by putting up 14 runs at the plate and shutting Kansas down offensively to win in seven innings.

Cam Brown was excellent on the bump today. He tossed seven shut-out innings allowing just two hits. He struck out eight Jayhawks and only walked one. In the 14-0 win over Kansas, Brown, in his first career complete game, only faced 23 batters, two over the minimum. The game was called after the 7th inning due to the run rule.

He didn’t need it, but the offense gave him a bunch of support.

The Frogs got it going early in this one. Scoring 12 runs in the first four innings.

They scored three in the first innings after Luke Boyers scored on a passed ball, Cole Fontenelle knocked another in, and David Bishop drew a bases-loaded walk to cap off the scoring in the first. Brayden Taylor added another run in the second on a solo shot to right field. Anthony Silva and Austin Davis also homered in the contest. Silva had a career day with three hits and five RBIs.

After scuffling a bit and falling out of most top 25 rankings, the Frogs have now won five games in a row and look to carry that momentum into the week as the head to Arlington Tuesday and Lubbock next weekend.

First pitch is at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and you can watch on ESPN+.
