Men's Basketball: TCU Beats Houston Christian 101-64 To Get To 6-0

TCU defeats Houston Christian 101-64 to move to 6-0 on the season. Emanuel Miller scored 19, while Jameer Nelson Jr. added a double-double with 15 points and 10 assists.

TCU beat Houston Christian 101-64 behind four double-digit scorers to stay undefeated for the year. The Frogs shot 58.2% from the field while holding the Huskies to just 42.2%. The turnover difference was the story of the game, as TCU had just six to Houston Christian's 24. This is great momentum for the Horned Frogs, as they will have a bump in competition for the rest of the year.

TCU Men's Basketball Notable Performances:

- Emanuel Miller: 19 points, 3 steals, 2 blocks

- Jameer Nelson Jr.: 15 points, 10 assists, 5 rebounds

- Micah Peavy: 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists

- JaKobe Coles: 12 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists

Backcourt Ballin'

With Mike Miles Jr.'s and Damion Baugh's departures, TCU had to reload with all new transfers filling up their backcourt. Monday, they showed that they can be elite. Jameer Nelson Jr. set a career-high in assists with 10 to go along with 15 points, while Avery Anderson III added nine points and five assists off the bench. If Trey Tennyson can contribute eight points on a nightly basis like tonight, this group could be just as good as years past.

Miller Time

Frog fans have been waiting for forward Emanuel Miller to really show that he can be that number one option in this offense. The Preseason All Big-12 selection led TCU with a season-high 19 points while even adding three steals and two blocks on the defensive end. As the season goes on, look for Miller to emerge as the go-to guy for this team.

Turnovers to Transition

Turnovers have been a consistent issue for Jamie Dixon's teams in recent years, but it played in TCU's favor Monday. The Frogs led the turnover battle six to 24 with 17 steals in the process. With how fast TCU runs, this advantage is huge if they can keep this up once conference play starts. Micah Peavy said after the game that TCU is "the best transition team in the country." If this continues, they very well could be.

Up Next: TCU travels to Georgetown on Saturday for their first road game of the season. The game will be at 4:30 p.m. CST on FS1. This will be the first real test for the Frogs this year. Tune in.
