Texas Tech Guard- #6 Joe Toussaint

Texas Tech has been a very good team this season, competing very well in the Big 12. They have been led by their guards, who have been electric this season. The last time TCU played Tech, I covered Pop Isaacs. For this article, I chose to cover Senior guard Joe Toussaint, who has been one of the driving forces behind this team's success. Toussaint stands at 6'0" and 190 lbs. and is one of the hardest working players on the Red Raiders' roster. Toussaint leads the team in average assists and steals per game. He is also second in average scoring per game. He is a silent difference maker for this team.

The Red Raiders guard is a very good play designer who can design plays that open up their shooter, Pop Isaacs. Toussaint is also a decent scorer who can get very hot in some games. He is very quick and knows how to drive to the basket well. The guard is also a great heads-up player who gets a decent amount of steals. TCU must slow him down to avoid having both guards get hot at once. The Frogs did an excellent job slowing him down in their first matchup vs Tech. This was one of the main key factors why TCU won in their first matchup against Texas Tech in Fort Worth. If TCU wants to win this game, they will either have to slow down Joe Toussaint or Pop Isaacs. If not, it could get ugly.

Other Players To Watch For:

  • Sophomore Guard- #2 Pop Isaacs
    • Leads team in average Points (16.1)
  • Senior Forward- #22 Warren Washington
    • Leads team in average Rebounds (7.7) and blocks in scoring (1.6)
