College football is in the air. The Big 12 released their All-Conference Preseason team Wednesday, as voted on by the media. Texas' Xavier Worthy and Kansas' Jalon Daniels topped the names on offense while TCU's own Johnny Hodges and Josh Newton were named on defense. TCU kicker Griffin Kell and defensive lineman Damonic Williams were also awarded spots.

The Big 12 was the first league to release their preseason team, which also includes some names from the four newly-minted members: BYU, Cincinnati, Houston, and UCF. However, just three names grace the list.

All-Big 12 Team Rundown

Daniels broke out as a star for Kansas last season, leading the Jayhawks to their first bowl bid since 2008. His runningmate in the backfield, running back Devin Neal also made the list, as did two other Jayhawks.

Baylor running back Richard Reese comes off a campaign where he rushed for 972 yards and 14 touchdowns as a freshman. Reese was the only Bear to be named on the preseason list.

Worthy joins teammates Ja'Tavion "JT" Sanders and Kelvin Banks on the offensive team. Texas added a pair of defenders, as well.

Kansas State tied rival Kansas with three offensive players and four total, headlined by offensive lineman Cooper Beebe.

Extremely uncharacteristic was the absence of any Oklahoma Sooners on the offensive team and just one Sooner total was awarded a spot on the list – defensive lineman Ethan Downs.

UCF and Houston were the lone teams not to have a player selected. Interestingly, no transfers graced the list.
