After a Week One performance that left many Horned Frog fans questioning whether or not he could be "the guy," Chandler Morris bounced back and turned in a strong Week Two outing against the Colonels.

Granted, it was Nicholls State and not the Georgia Bulldogs he was playing against, but regardless, Morris showed improvement. The sophomore went 26/30, throwing for 263 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for 63 yards and another score.

For those who don't know what PFF is, it is an advanced statistics website that tracks every player on the field at all times. For those who know what PFF is, you know that it is not the end-all-be-all determining factor of whether or not a player played well, but it does paint a good picture. PFF gave Morris the third highest QB grade in the country (92.6) behind only Arkansas' KJ Jefferson and South Carolina's Spencer Rattler and ahead of Michigan's JJ McCarthy and Washington's Michael Penix Jr.

Let's be honest... This does not mean as much as TCU fans may want it to mean. Morris was shaky against Colorado in Week One, and in his previous start against Colorado last season, he looked average at best. But a strong start, regardless of opponent, is exactly what TCU needed from Morris, and that is what they got against Nicholls State.

Next week will be much more of a test as the Frogs visit new Big 12 foe Houston. Houston held a high-powered UTSA offense to just 14 points in Week One before turning around and allowing 43 points against cross-town rival Rice, which may be a better team than we thought. Another good showing from Morris will ease the hearts and minds of Frog fans and also get TCU over .500 for the first time this season.
