And now for the inexplicably obligatory narrative:

It's been a rough couple of weeks.  After a humiliating defeat at home against Colorado, our Frogs did a passable job of redeeming themselves with a 41-6 win against Nicholls State, but, as anyone who watched can attest, it was hardly our best game.

Our opponent on Saturday also leaves much to be desired.  Perhaps Houston will prove the team to awaken the Frogs from their slumbers, but a challenger that recently lost to Rice is hardly the most inspiring.  Our guys need to feel some pressure, and I doubt that Houston will be able to apply it.  I hope I'm wrong, that out of a sense of basic love of the game and pure principle, our Horned Frogs find in themselves their own inspiration and pummel the Cougars as only they can--I have them predicted to win 96-0.

Otherwise, TCU will continue a mediocre game that nevertheless beats mediocre teams by three or four touchdowns.  Of course, it goes without saying, losing to Houston is unthinkable.  If that happens, we're doomed.

Let's just hope they make necessary adjustments before the real challengers appear--I'm thinking Kansas State, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Anyway, Go Frogs!
