Sonny Dykes addressed the media for the first time as TCU's head football coach at Tuesday's press conference. Excitement from Coach Dykes was expressed thoroughly as he talked about all things he want to do differently at TCU for the years to come. The main thing he talked about changing is his wanting the connection between former players and current players to grow. He wants them to be able to participate and help TCU grow in the right direction. An another addition Coach Dykes is going to bring back at TCU is recruiting in Texas, mainly DFW to start. Texas is the mecca for high school football in the United States. Coach Dykes wants to make sure he gets the players that know how to ball that are from the DFW a chance to stay close to home.

By recruiting in state, it gives the players more incentive to play as they get to play in front of their families more often. It is also more of an incentive for the school to grow its fan base if they can get more DFW fans to come watch football in Fort Worth to see some athletes that were made in the DFW.

Coach Dykes also wants to improve the health of players moving forward with this program. So, he is changing things in that area. The last few years TCU football players have been injury prone. So, he is ready to meet all of his current players and hit the ground running to get his Horned Frogs right for next season.
