And now for the inexplicably obligatory narrative:
Difficult days for TCU. The guys, simply put, aren't performing. The game against West-by-God-Virginia, a dismal disappointment, was immediately followed by a game in Ames, Iowa that can only be classified as an unqualified disaster. A team we defeated last year (62-14) beat us easily (14-27). On Saturday, TCU will host a team that always proved a challenge when in the Mountain West. This will be the first time the two teams meet in the Big 12.
What's particularly alarming about our loss to Iowa State is that, unlike the upsets by Colorado and West Virginia, it wasn't a one-score game we could have easily turned the other way. The defeat was clean and decisive. I hoped that Iowa State would prove the game our team turned around and turned up. I will continue to hope they do so for BYU. At the least, I'll be there to root them on.
