Chargers Select Derius Davis in Round Four of NFL Draft

With the 125th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Chargers selected wide receiver Derius Davis.
Davis joins a loaded wide receiver room in LA with teammate Quentin Johnston. This receiving core consists of Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, Joshua Palmer and Jalen Guyton. However, the Chargers have struggled with injuries at the receiver position over the last several years which may open up opportunities for Davis.
The Chargers will likely use him as a return specialist with his blazing speed. Davis ran a 4.36 40 in the combine and could also be dangerous on jet sweeps which offensive coordinator Kellen Moore wants to incorporate.
Davis is the fifth Horned Frog taken in this year's draft. The others include Johnston who was selected 21st overall by the Chargers, Steve Avila to the Rams in round two, Kendre Miller to the Saints in round three and Dylan Horton to the Texans in round four.
