After transferring from Texas to TCU in the Fall of 2022 following his sister, Gracie Morris, Graydon Morris gives us an inside look at what is coming up for himself and the TCU men's track team.

Mens Track/Cross Country Athlete Graydon Morris

Graydon and Gracie have both made waves in the 2022-2023 year, winning multiple events. Graydon won the 5000m race at the Vanderbilt Invitational and placed well in his other events throughout the season. A hip injury that was thought to be minor has kept him from running since then. I asked Graydon a few questions about his transfer from Texas to TCU and what he expects from the TCU track season this year.

"The transfer from Texas was a much-needed change. I didn't like living in Austin, and the opportunities at TCU to better my education and more easily pursue my goals in running were something I couldn't pass up."-Graydon Morris.

Graydon also said that he believes he made the right decision regarding the transfer.

While Graydon has been off the track for an extended period, he understood he was in good hands with the TCU trainers and medical staff.

"The trainers at TCU have been a big help to me. One of the biggest reasons I chose to come here was because of the impressive resume that the track and field head trainer had."-Graydon Morris.

As for the 2023 track season, because of his injury, Graydon elected to sit out the remainder of the year and start preparing in hopes of being 100% for next year's cross-country season.

"I'm hoping to get to compete in conference play this season. However, this injury has proved to be more difficult to heal than we had anticipated. I likely won't be in great shape, even if I am competing this season. It won't be until the fall of next year that I will be able to compete at 100% again."-Graydon Morris.

The TCU track and field teams' next meet will begin this weekend at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, starting April 27th and running until the 29th.
