The 2023 beach volleyball season is underway. No. 3 TCU Beach Volleyball traveled to Houston, Texas Saturday to play four games over the course of the weekend, sweeping all of their opponents, 5-0. This is the first time in program history the Horned Frogs open the season with four consecutive sweeps.

Six Frogs came away with perfect 4-0 weekends: Daniela Alvarez, Maria Gonzalez, Anhelina Khmil, Sutton MacTavish, Kate Privett, and Rochelle Scott.

The Third Coast College Classic began Saturday. The Horned Frogs played two matches on both Saturday and Sunday.

TCU Beach Volleyball - Saturday, February 25

Beat UAB 5-0

Khmil, Keagan Polk, and Privett recorded their first victories as Horned Frogs. TCU remained undefeated in their career against UAB with their tenth straight win.

Beat Houston Christian 5-0

TCU has never lost to Houston Christian, getting their eleventh straight victory over the Huskies. The Horned Frogs continued to be undefeated against teams from Texas, moving their all-time record to 30-0.

Beat Texas A&M - Corpus Christi

The Frogs improved to 11-0 all time against the Islanders. TCU raised their record against opponents from Texas to 31-0.

Beat Central Arkansas 5-0

Privett, transfer from Florida State, scored her 100th career victory. Hallie Corinne Frist notched her first ever win as a Horned Frog. TCU leads the career series against the Beach Bears, 5-0.


TCU won 40 of 42 sets played this weekend. This is the second year in a row that the Frogs are undefeated after the first week of the season.

"The team was awesome during the whole weekend," said associate head coach Majo Orellana. "It was a great opening weekend for us and now it is time to regroup and get ready for next weekend where we are facing three teams that ended in the top 8 last season.”

Next up: The Horned Frogs will travel to Tampa, Florida next weekend for the Tampa Tournament. They are slated to play No. 8 Georgia State, Florida Gulf Coast, No. 2 Florida State, and Tampa.
