Beach Volleyball: TCU’s Historic Season Finishes Following Loss to USC

The No. 2 TCU beach volleyball concluded their best season in team history Saturday, finishing 37-3. They swept No. 15 Stetson and No. 10 Stanford in the NCAA tournament before falling to No. 3 USC in the Final Four, 3-2.
Advancing to the NCAA Final Four was TCU’s first appearance in program history. They also concluded a remarkable season that included their first CCSA Conference Title, continuing a 36-match home win streak that started in 2020 and totaled 27 sweeps. It will most definitely be remembered as the Horned Frogs’ most historic season ever.
Six Horned Frogs recorded career win milestones on the season. Rochelle Scott, Hailey Brockett, and Kate Privett all reached 100 career wins, while Daniela Alvarez, Tania Moreno, and Maria Gonzalez recorded their 75th win milestone.
TCU played No. 15 seed Stetson on Friday before advancing to play No. 10 seed Stanford and No. 3 seed USC on Saturday.
Friday
Beat No. 15 Stetson 3-0
TCU earned their second program NCAA tournament win, advancing to the Elite 8 for the third consecutive season. Anhelina Khmil/Kate Privett and Maria Gonzalez/Ana Vergara’s matches were unfinished because TCU had already clinched the victory.
Saturday
Beat No. 10 Stanford 3-0
The Frogs advanced to the Final Four for the first time in program history. Khmil/Privett and Gonzalez/Vergara’s matches were left unfinished again after TCU had clinched the win.
Lost to No. 3 USC 2-3
The match was tied 2-2, and all came down to Rochelle Scott and Hailey Brockett on No. 5, the duo fell just short: 23-21, 16-21, 12-15.
This season was truly unforgettable for TCU and should leave all fans proud of how the Horned Frogs have performed. I can’t wait to see what this team does in the future. Go Frogs.
