TCU Golf: Women and Men's Golf Season Update

Let's take a look at how both teams played in their recent tournament

Both the TCU men's and women's golf teams began their fall season earlier this month, and both were in action last week. Here is how the two teams fared:

TCU Women's Golf - Schooner Fall Classic, Norman, Oklahoma

The TCU women played at the Schooner Fall Classic, hosted by the University of Oklahoma in Norman. They didn't get the desired result, but they definitely had things to take away from the tournament. TCU finished 14th at the Schooner Fall Classic after shooting five over as a team in the final round.

Louis Lau continued her hit streak at this tournament. She played exceptionally well. She finished tied for sixth place overall with a total score of six under. The senior led the team, finishing even or better in each of the three rounds. Throughout the tournament, she recorded eleven birdies, which was the most of any horned frog.

Sofia Barroso Sa also had a very strong final day, firing a four-under round. Her final round pushed her up the leaderboard by cutting her deficit by half. She finished a four over for the entire tournament.

Meagan Winans returned to her former school and finished with a 1-over final round. The junior OU transfer finished the tournament at 7-over. Freshman Sofie Dimitrova took her first trip with TCU up to OU, as she finished the tournament at 23-over, while Sheridan Clancy finished at 35-over.

The TCU Women's Golf team will return to action on October 9th as they head to Illinois to play in the Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah Country Club.
