The No. 2 TCU Women's Rifle team hosted their first home meet of the season, hosting the top-ranked West Virginia team and the number three-ranked Nebraska. The Horned Frogs finished second behind the Mountaineers but beat out Nebraska to avoid a third-place finish. 

Three Horned Frogs placed in the top ten for individual scores; Stephanie Grundsoee placed third with a score of 1,188, Katie Zaun tied for fifth with a score of 1,1884, and Jeanne Haverhill placed tenth with a career-high of 1,179. 

The team combined for a score of 2,347 in smallbore, led by Grundsoee's score of 591. Zaun tied for fifth with a score of 589, followed close behind by Mikole Hogan with a score of 584.

The Horned Frogs shined in the air rifle discipline, with five of the top ten scores coming from the team. Grundsoee tied for first, shooting a 597, and Haverhill was right behind her with a career-high score of 596, which was good for third. Zaun and Hogan fired a 595 and finished in a five-way tie for fifth place, with Stephanie Allan placing tenth with a score of 594.

Kaylynn Slaughter, a freshman from Granbury, made her collegiate debut in the matches. Slaughter finished with a 570 in smallbore and a 577 in air rifle. Annie Downum also debuted for the first time this season and tied her career-high of a 590 in the air rifle discipline. 

The TCU Rifle Team will return to competition this Saturday, November 4, against defending National Champions Alaska Nanooks.
