TCU Soccer: Frogs Grab Three Points Against Stephen F. Austin

Following a three-game road trip, the Frogs picked up a 3-1 win at home against Stephen F. Austin on Sunday afternoon.
The Frogs wasted no time in finding the back of the net when Gracie Brian scored in the 7th minute. From a set piece, Remini Tillotson lofted a ball into the penalty area, and Brian rose high, getting her head to it and netting it past goalkeeper Bradley Redd. Having scored her 4th goal of the year, Brian has now scored in back-to-back games.

Just two minutes later, the Frogs doubled their advantage courtesy of Oli Peña. Following a goal line clearance from SFA, Peña headed home her first goal of the season.

It was a truly dominant first 45 minutes where TCU outshot the SFA 12 to four.
Coming out of the half, TCU continued to pile on the pressure. It only took nine minutes for TCU to find the back of the net for the third time, this time by way of Camryn Lancaster. Perhaps not an intentional effort on goal, but the clearance from the SFA defender arrowed into Lancaster and found the back of the net.

The Frogs continued their dominant performance, controlling the tempo with loads of possession. Their defense was stout until the Jacks broke through and grabbed one back with a goal from Jayme Bailey. Midfielder Ava Shannon found Bailey through in space before she calmly pushed it past Lauren Kellett.
Despite SFA’s late heroics, it wasn’t enough as TCU saw out their 3-1 lead, picking up all three points at home.
The Frogs will now hit the road for a two-game road trip starting in Cincinnati on Thursday before traveling to Morgantown to take on the West Virginia Mountaineers.
