Women's Soccer Poll Watching Week 2 - Frogs Drop From Rankings

The TCU women's soccer team (1-2-0) knew that scheduling tough nonconference opponents early in the season could impact the team's record. However, Coach Eric Bell has repeatedly said that these types of matches are the best training as a very competitive conference season approaches.
Earlier this week, TCU lost to then-No. 8 Penn State 1-0. This was the second loss to a Top 10 team in the first three matches of the young season. The Frogs are now 1-2-0. In the Week 2 United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll, released earlier on Tuesday, TCU dropped out of the Top 25. The team is in the receiving votes category and the equivalent of No. 34.
TCU began the season ranked No. 9 in the preseason poll, then dropped to No. 16 in the Week 1 poll.
UCLA remains in the top spot in Week 2, followed again by Florida State. BYU is the highest-ranked team from the Big 12 at No. 7. Texas is the only other ranked Big 12 team at No. 18. Two other Big 12 teams are in the receiving votes category - West Virginia (No. 27) and UCF (No. 29),
