Kyle Lemmermann, one of the country's top-ranked kickers, chose TCU on Wednesday. The Southlake Carroll (TX) product chose the Horned Frogs over Arkansas and Texas Tech. He also held offers from Baylor, North Carolina State, and UTSA.

Lemmermann is held in high regard by many of the special teams ranking platforms, including Kornblue Kicking, Kohl's Kicking, and Chris Sailer Kicking. Both Kornblue Kicking and Chris Sailer Kicking have the 6 '2 specialist ranked as the No. 1 kicker in the country, while Kohl's ranks him as a five-star and the No. 27 kicker in his class.

Chris Sailer, a former All-American kicker and punter at UCLA and a current specialist trainer and evaluator, writes this about Lemmermann:

"He is big, tall, strong, and athletic. Kyle does a fantastic job on field goals. He hits a clean ball off the ground, gets great lift on his ball, and has 60-yard range. His kickoffs are outstanding. He drives the ball 70+ yards with 4.3+ hang time. Kyle is also a more than capable punter. A competitor who excels under pressure— Kyle is kicking in a class of his own, the clear-cut #1 kicker in the nation."

TCU's special teams coordinator Mark Tommerdahl led the way in the recruiting efforts of Lemmermann. Last season under Tommerdahl, Derius Davis won Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year, and Griffin Kell was named First Team All-Big 12.

Lemmermann will join the Horned Frogs in 2024 and will have a chance to start and contribute right away.
