On Saturday, Ty Hawkins, a quarterback out of Claudia Taylor High School in San Antonio, committed to Sonny Dykes and the Horned Frogs. Hawkins ranks as a top-five quarterback in his class and the best signal-caller in Texas, according to On3's rankings. He chose the Frogs over Texas Tech, SMU, UTSA, and Baylor.

The 6-foot, 195-pound quarterback had an excellent sophomore season at San Antonio Johnson High School, throwing for 2,167 yards and 30 touchdowns while rushing for over 900 yards and eight touchdowns. He is a true dual-threat QB and an impressive athlete.

Just a day later, the Frogs landed Adrian Wilson, a wide receiver from Pflugerville, Texas. Wilson is slated as the seventh-best receiver in the country and the second-best receiver in Texas, according to On3. The 6'2, 170-pound pass-catcher had offers from Oklahoma, Baylor, Ole Miss, and Texas Tech.

He played in eight games during his sophomore season and caught 28 passes for 547 yards and eight touchdowns. He reportedly runs a 4.56 forty-yard dash and has a 39-inch vertical.

It is always great to land big recruits, but TCU's work with these two is not finished. We are still two years out from the final 2025 class rankings, and a lot can change between now and then. Teams will continue to recruit both Hawkins and Wilson, so head coach Sonny Dykes and his staff will have to keep the pressure on. For now, it is a great start and a promising look for the Horned Frogs, who have never had more momentum on the recruiting trail than they do right now.
