Two Bold Predictions for the Rest of Tennessee Football's Fall Camp

The Tennessee Volunteers' season is quickly approaching, as the season is set to begin in less than a month. In fact, the first game for the Vols is scheduled for the first Saturday of September, which is going to be a game in which they play against Furman.

Ahead of their first contest, the Vols have been progressing through fall camp. Ahead of the conclusion of camp, I have two bold predictions regarding Tennessee's roster.

Joel Wyatt Finds His Way to a Key Rotational Role as a Safety

The Tennessee Volunteers have an extremely deep safety room. The room is so deep that they may have to put Dejuan Lane on the bench, which is something that I personally predicted in my recent depth chart projection. With that being said, it is safe to say that there is still room for opportunity for some of the younger guys, which leaves the door open for Joel Wyatt, who has no choice but to see the field this season, in my opinion.

The former Tennessee high school star out of Oakland High School has an excellent frame, measuring in at 6-4 and 210 pounds. This would be an elite frame for an outside wide receiver, let alone the safety position. His length is something that the other safeties can't bring to the table, which already gives him an edge and a reason to be played in his first season for the Vols.

At this time, it seems reasonable that he works with the two behind two veteran starters ahead of him.

Jeremiah Telander's Continued Growth Allows Him to Be a Priority Rotational Linebacker and Occasional Starter

The Tennessee Volunteers have had some growth when it comes to the linebacker room thanks to a plethora of different additions. After Arion Carter entered the college football transfer portal, he opted that it would be in his best interest to return to the program, while the Vols also added Amare Campbell, TJ White, and Brayden Rouse to the rotation. Regardless of the depth, there are at least five linebackers on the roster who seem ready to start, including a starter from last season, Jeremiah Telander.

Telander has been the leader of this defense since last season and was even one of the leaders to represent the Vols at SEC Media Days this offseason. Telander is well spoken as a leader, but his eagerness to learn and get better allows him to be one of the players with the best growth on the field. While many believe that he is going to be the No. 5 linebacker on the depth chart, it seems that things could change, and could change quickly.

This team has a lot of trust in Telander and will use him in key moments. I believe he will be a key rotational linebacker for the Vols, while also finding a way to be an occasional starter.
