Tennessee a "Major Threat" To Land David Sanders Jr.

2025 five-star offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. (Charlotte, N.C.) has long been high on the Tennessee Volunteers, and some see them as a major threat to other programs here.

Providence Day School offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. is down to Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Those six programs stand out to the elite talent, but there is a top group among those suitors. Clemson, Georgia, and Tennessee have separated themselves for the No. 2 prospect in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

Rivals' Adam Freidman broke down Sanders's recruitment in the latest "Fact or Fiction edition." The topic was "Will David Sanders end up signing with Georgia?" Freidman said it was fiction, explaining his reasoning through the strength of two other programs here. "I felt really good about Georgia's chances back in August when I entered my FutureCast for the Bulldogs," Freidman explained. "Now I'd give them less than a 50-percent chance of signing Sanders. All the momentum is on Clemson's side right now, but Tennessee is lurking as a major threat to the Tigers and UGA. Sanders is at Ohio State for an unofficial visit this weekend and has an unofficial visit set for Tennessee's spring game before starting his official visit schedule. This will continue to be a tight race through the end of his official visits but I'm giving the edge to Clemson right now."
