Longhorns Xavier Worthy Is On3's 2nd Best WR For 2023
Xavier Worthy burst onto the scene as a freshman for the Texas Longhorns, as his 981 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns earned him Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year - among other honors.
His dominant freshman season made him one of the most intriguing receivers to watch in his sophomore season, especially with the addition of quarterback Quinn Ewers.
However, Worthy had a bit of a down year. A down year for Worthy, though, was nothing to scoff at with 760 receiving yards and nine touchdowns en route to Second Team All-Big 12 honors.
Entering his third season as a Longhorn, Worthy once again is a name to watch, with On3 ranking him in their Top 10 receivers in college football in 2023.
2. Xavier Worthy, Texas: The Longhorns star didn’t quite match his 2021 productivity, though some of that is almost certainly attributable to the injuries Texas had at quarterback. Still, Worthy is one of those receivers who seems to haul in anything thrown his direction. He finished 2022 with 60 catches for 760 yards and nine touchdowns.
The talent is there for Worthy, as evidenced by his 1,741 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns through two seasons. If he and Ewers can develop their chemistry even further in 2023, then they could be one of the best offensive duos in college football.
