UCLA Football: Bruins OL Coach Joins Chip Kelly at Ohio State

Former UCLA football offensive line coach Tim Drevno will join Chip Kelly at Ohio State to become a quality control coach, via the Columbus Dispatch.

Drevno joins Ohio State almost a month after he and the Bruins parted ways. When Kelly left UCLA to become the offensive coordinator of Ohio State, Drevno was one of the coaches not retained under the new UCLA regime led by head coach DeShaun Foster. The Bruins have since made Juan Castillo their new offensive line coach.

Before joining Ohio State, Drevno coached for UCLA from 2021-2023. He previously had experience with USC, Michigan, Stanford and the San Francisco 49ers.

Castillo comes into this position with a boatload of experience and offensive coordinator ties as well. Before coming to the Bruins Castillo coached under new UCLA offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy on the Washington Commanders. Castillo was the run game coordinator under Bieniemy in 2023, and previously served as the Commanders' tight end coach in 2022. Castillo has previous experience as an offensive line coach for the Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles, Baltimore Ravens and Chicago Bears.

He adds to a new UCLA offensive coaching staff that also includes passing game coordinator and safeties coach Brian Norwood, wide receivers coach Erik Frazier, tight ends coach Jerry Neuheisel, running backs coach Marcus Thomas and quarterbacks coach Ted White.
