UCLA Football: Bruins Climb Into AP Top 20 After Beating Colorado

In this story:
After taking down the Colorado Buffalos this weekend in front of their home fans, the UCLA Bruins took a jump into the top 20 of the AP Poll. UCLA now sits ranked at number 20 exactly, and they have been hanging around things in the Pac-12 Conference.
While the Bruins likely won’t be in the National Championship race, they can still make plenty of noise in the Pac-12 if they can win out. They will need help from others in the conference, but all UCLA can do is take care of the game in front of themselves while hoping for the best.
Their schedule isn’t the toughest down the stretch, with the hardest game on paper being against the cross-town rival USC Trojans. UCLA has shown a strong level of toughness this season, especially on the defensive side of the ball.
The Bruins stifled the Colorado offense all game, and it helped lead them to another win. The Buffalos were coming off their bye week, so it was a solid all-around game for the Bruins. The Buffalos were coming off a poor loss in their last contest as well, so they were desperate for a win.
But the Bruins didn't budge, and after a slow start, they won at all levels in the matchup. And the biggest aspect for UCLA was that they didn’t let the media spectacle of Colorado take over the game.
The Bruins now head to Arizona this weekend for a matchup with the Wildcats in what will be their next contest. They can't take Arizona lightly and will need to continue with the do-or-die mentality that they have had recently.
If they can take care of business here, they should continue to move up in the next poll once again.
