UCLA Football: Colorado Coach Deion Sanders Unhappy About Bye Week Heading Into Bruins Game

Your UCLA Bruins football team is preparing to face off against the upstart Colorado Buffalos this weekend, and they couldn’t be more excited. After a big win over Stanford last week, the Bruins feel like they got their form back.

But as they get ready for the Buffalos, they know they need to be careful. The last time we saw Colorado, they had just blown a massive lead to Stanford and dropped the game. They were on a bye week recently, and head coach Deion Sanders wasn’t happy about it.

He believed that they needed more time to work things out, not time off. Now, he faces the challenge of getting his guys ready to take on a solid UCLA squad.

“No, it’s not a good time for a bye week,” Sanders said. “I mean, if you’re having problems where you’re injured and you have quite a few injuries, it’s a good time for a bye week. When you’re like [we’re] playing, you don’t want a bye week. You want to work it out, you want to make it happen. I wish we could play again next week. I really do.”

This game against UCLA is a must-win for Colorado since they are close to becoming bowl-eligible. The dream of anything else is all but gone, but they can still salvage their year. However, UCLA doesn’t plan to let that happen.

The Bruins know that they will be tested, especially against a desperate team coming off their bye week. So, they will need to be ready for anything and everything.

Colorado has a good offensive attack, so the Bruins’ outstanding defense will need to do more of the same that they have been this season. It has been the identity of UCLA all year, and they will be counting on them once again.

If the Bruins can show up and play their game, they should be fine. But if they take Colorado for granted, they could find themselves in a dogfight that they never wanted to be a part of.
