UCLA Basketball: Lonzo Ball Breaks Down History With Former Kentucky Star

Two of the brightest young guards in college basketball's recent past.

As a recent guest on fellow college star point guard Trae Young's new podcast From The Point, former UCLA Bruins legend Lonzo Ball broke down multiple topics about his basketball career and his rapid rise to stardom.

Among these topics was a rivalry with All-Star Sacramento Kings point guard De'Aaron Fox that has stuck with Ball through his time in high school to college and now the NBA concerning who has also shone on the biggest stage.

"Me and Fox, we've been playing each other since high school. I met him in USA camp and that was actually a big moment in my career. I was going into my sophomore year. That's where I met Fox and I knew then that he was different. Just playing him every time you got to obviously be ready to play against one of the best players in the world. He's fast as hell so he has a lot of credit from me. He knows what it is whenever we play.

In a famed March Madness matchup that pitted Ball's UCLA against Fox's Kentucky, it was the Wildcats that prevailed behind Fox's career high 39 points in the Sweet 16 matchup in 2017.

Ball only managed 10 points and 8 assists in what would be his final collegiate game with Fox similarly bowing out a round later against the UNC Tar Heels in the Elite Eight.

The Bruin would go 2nd overall to the Lakers in that year's draft with the Kings taking the speedy Fox with their 5th overall pick in 2017 as well.

It's been quite the journey for the two players as Fox has shone for Sacramento as the key cog in their engine back to the playoffs alongside his fellow All-Star in Domantas Sabonis.

While Ball bounced around for a few seasons, he seemingly found a home in Chicago with the Bulls before a knee injury gone wrong has sidelined him for the foreseeable future.

We can only hope for Ball's health because whenever the two dynamic guards match up it's just like old times and makes for some great basketball for fans everywhere.
