USC Basketball: Multiple Injuries to Starters Could Lead to Trojans Bronny James Starting

Bronny James could be starting tonight for the Trojans.

The USC Trojans are currently banged up, and tonight's matchup against Colorado could lead to a much different-looking starting five.

Standout freshman Isaiah Collier hurt his hand in the 1st half of the Trojans' loss to Washington State, and he would not return. It was recently announced that he will miss 4-6 weeks due to this hand ailment.

To make matters worse, big man Joshua Morgan was held out of the game for an upper respiratory infection, and his status is still up in the air. Boogie Ellis also appeared to have injured his leg when USC took on Stanford, and that injury also popped up again in the battle against WSU.

With these injuries depleting the starters for tonight's game, it could result in an opportunity for freshman Bronny James to return to full action.

James has been on a minutes restriction ever since he returned from cardiac arrest he suffered back in July. December 10 marked his first game back, and he has since ramped up his contributions.

It will be up to team doctors and head coach Andy Enfield to decide if James will be a viable starter. Should that be the case, it would be a massive turnaround for the young freshman.

He could also use this opportunity to take over being a starter for the remainder of the season, should his performance be stunning.
