USC Football: Lincoln Riley Eager to Meet Colorado's Phenom Coach

Two of the most polarizing figures in the sport.

USC head coach Lincoln Riley shared some excitement for the team's upcoming matchup with Colorado for many reasons.

Among them was the fact that Riley had never met new Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders and will now get his chance on the road this weekend.

Sanders took over a one-win program in 2022 and turned it into one of the biggest sports stories this season.

After he defeated national championship runner-ups TCU, former NFL head coach Matt Rhule's Nebraska team, and rivals Colorado State, many have shared their polarizing opinions on Prime Time's direction.

While some accused the former Super Bowl cornerback of nepotism due to the massive turnover from last season's roster, others have praised the work he and his sons put in to revive the program to a ranked team.

Blown out by Oregon in week four, Sanders and his team now set their eyes on reigning Heisman winner Caleb Williams and a USC team who equally struggled on the road.

The Trojans had their own game to forget after barely getting past Arizona State in their first conference matchup of the year.

Though they secured their fourth win on the young season, Williams and the rest of the Men of Troy likely want to come out even more robust with an earlier kick-off this weekend.

Given the lackluster performance, the Trojans dropped to eighth in the AP Poll themselves after being ranked fifth in the nation for their work in the first three weeks of the year.

With 50 points scored in each of the team's first three contests, last week's shortcomings in the red zone and on the defensive side of the ball cut it far too close for comfort.

Both teams have something to prove this weekend, and we can't wait to see how it goes down in just a few days.
