USC Football: Recruiting Expert Claims Trojans Are Not Ready For Big Ten

In this story:
The USC Trojans have been dealing with many players who have entered the transfer portal, along with those who have decided to declare for the NFL Draft. In a short 24 hours, they lost DB starters, Max Williams and Calen Bullock.
Despite the losses, they still brought in 19 signees on signing day, along with securing Kamari Ramsey and John Humphrey from UCLA. The defensive side of the ball has gotten stronger, but recruiting experts are not high on Lincoln Riley's moves.
“I don’t know if they are ready for the Big Ten, and that’s what scares me if I am a USC Trojans fan,” Angulo said. “The top two players they’ve landed from the state of California, which should be a recruiting hotbed for them, are both wide receivers. That’s not a position they ever need help in. That comes organically through them. From a high school standpoint, they need to attack the trenches. That is what gets them ready for the Big Ten.”

The issue is that the best prospects that the Trojans secured are both wide receivers, which isn't a huge issue that needs to be addressed. Riley did manage to bring in some interesting prospects to bolster the offensive and defensive lines, but it appears not to be enough.
Both lines were bullied and depth remains an issue. Riley praised the "big bodies" that the team secured on signing day, but there are too many question marks on the totality of the 19 signing day recruits. The Big Ten is full of amazing teams, and the consensus is that the Trojans might not be ready for a step up in competition.
