USC Football: Sixth-Year Senior Ends Trojans Run In Misery Vs UCLA

In this story:
The 2023 USC Trojans season has come to an end, officially. It ended in the worst way possible, losing the victory bell to their arch-rivals, UCLA Bruins, to cap off a season full of disappointments.
The Trojans failed to capture a Pac-12 title or college football playoff appearance for their star quarterback, Caleb Williams. Saturday was likely his last time donning a Cardinal red and gold jersey; however, he wasn't the only Trojan to don those special colors for the last time ever.
USC six-year offensive lineman Justin Dedich was visibly upset about his final game as a Trojan and reflected on what could have been after the game.
“Obviously wanted a different outcome for this game. Especially with my unit,” said Dedich, who has started every game at center this season. “But grateful for all the times I’ve had in this place and grateful to be part of this team, part of this program. I wouldn’t want it any other way. Love being a Trojan.”

Dedich is a California native who spent his entire collegiate career at USC. From 2018 to 2023, Dedich was a staple in the line; however, 2023 was far from where the line was even a year ago.
The offensive line struggled mightily all season long, making Caleb do his best to look superhuman at times. The offensive line allowed four sacks to the UCLA Bruins, and throughout the season, USC allowed a QB sack percentage of 7.38%, 93rd in the country.
In Dedich's career, the 6'2 ", 295-pound lineman was named to the Pro Football Focus All-American Third Team and was an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention. He shined as a Trojan, and we thank him for all the work he's done for us.
His tenure as a Trojan didn't end as he'd hoped, and now the program is left to pick up the pieces.
