Elite Cornerback Brandon Lockhart Commits to USC

Brandon Lockhart is one of the best players in the class of 2026.

Loyola High School (Los Angeles, CA) cornerback Brandon Lockhart has committed to USC. Lockhart, according to several recruiting networks, is one of the best sophomores in the country. Coaches have noted Lockhart's effort and competitiveness as big factors in why they want him, in additional to his length and physical tools.

We reported that Lockhart favored USC over Oregon and Penn State. Per Hayes Fawcett, Penn State and Oregon were the other two schools he was seriously considering. Fawcett announced Lockhart's commitment to USC on Twitter (below).

Lockhart told AllTrojans.com that USC was his dream school growing up, and that his mother is an alumni. Lockhart is the third commit in USC's 2026 class. Oddly enough, USC doesn't have any commits in their 2025 class. This commitment also comes on the heels of USC's close-call win against an unranked Cal team, putting a stop to the Trojans' 2-game losing streak.

Last week, Riley insinuated he doesn't too much care about where his program recruits from. He also suggested it would take time for the USC brand to be rebuilt and that recruits (especially local ones) who have only seen USC under his own tenure would be more likely to commit to the Trojans.

This is a much needed recruiting win for the Trojans. Lockhart joins Georgia quarterback Julian Lewis and So-Cal wide receiver Ja'Myron Baker as the lone three commits in USC's 2026 recruiting class.
