Archbishop Riordan (San Francisco, CA) athlete Chris Lawson recently took a visit to USC for its game against UCLA. This was prior to USC offering him, while UCLA had already extended an offer.

Your Trojans joined a slew of schools courting Lawson. Penn State, Kansas, Oregon, Washington, Cal, Arizona, and Colorado State have all offered Lawson. The 6-too-1 Lawson plays both corner and wide receiver for Archbishop Riordan's high-powered offense. Luke Huard, USC's inside wide receivers coach is serving as Lawson's main point of contact.

Some schools are looking at Lawson as a slot, while others see him playing both inside and outside. 247Sports considers him a 4-star prospect, the 141st-best player in the 2025 class, the 13th-best wide receiver, and the 11th-best prospect in the state of California. As of late, USC has been casting a wide net as it relates to their 2025 class, for which they lack any commitments.

Lawson shared his thoughts on what position he could play at the next level with 247 Sports' Brandon Huffman. "Honestly, I want to try the best I can to do both ways, I feel like it’s a trend... My heart is a little more on offense but I like being on defense. I just like playing football." said Lawson.

Lawson had a fantastic junior season on offense, catching 68 passes for nearly 1,000 yards and 11 touchdowns. He paired that with 26 total tackles as well as 2 interceptions at cornerback for the Crusaders.
