USC Football: Trojans Trying to Pull Four-Star Lineman Off Washington Commitment

He received an offer from USC weeks after his commitment to Washington.

Folmsom High School (Folsom, CA) 2025 defensive tackle Josiah Sharma took to X/Twitter today to announce he has received an offer from USC.

One of the few retained defensive positional coaches at USC, Shaun Nua, put in the call to offer Sharma. Nua will coach defensive ends under new Trojan defensive Coordinator D'Anton Lynn, with help from new defensive line coach Eric Henderson. Henderson would likely be the man coaching Sharma, should Sharma flip to USC.

The 6-foot-5, 300-pound Sharma, just weeks ago, verbally committed to Washington. However, there's a lot of time between now and Sharma's actual signing day, and a lot can change between now and then. Like Washington Head Coach Kalen Deboer moving to Alabama

With new defensive line coach Eric Henderson's NFL experience, and a desperate need for depth along the Trojan defensive line, it's easy to see why a player like Josiah Sharma might reconsider his Washington commitment in favor of USC. Sharma also received offers from Sacramento State, North Carolina State, and Cal since he gave his verbal pledge to Washington.

Given the quality of Sharma's limited yet explosive junior season film, it's hard to imagine that more offers aren't on the way for the athletic 300-pounder. He will be playing his final season at one of the best programs in Northern California in Folsom, alongside fellow USC target 2026 quarterback Ryder Lyons. Sharma is in a position, through no fault of his own, to be on the receiving end of concentrated flip efforts from USC and likely others as 2024 unfolds.
