Virginia jumped in the mix for one of the top high school basketball recruits in the country on Saturday, extending an offer to five-star combo guard Jalen Haralson, the No. 9 overall recruit in the class of 2025.

A 6'7" guard from Indiana, Haralson boasts a remarkable list of high-major offers, including Duke, Gonzaga, Purdue, Florida State, Auburn, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, Arizona State, Ohio State, TCU, Michigan State, Missouri, Wisconsin, and now Virginia. The fight for Haralson's commitment will likely be one of the most heated recruiting battles in the class of 2025 and the Cavaliers have officially thrown their hat in the ring.

Haralson began his high school career at Fishers High School in Indiana, but announced a few days ago that he will be transferring to La Lumiere, one of the top high school basketball programs in the country. Darius Adams, another top recruit in the class of 2025 who picked up an offer from UVA this week, will also be transferring to La Lumiere next season.

A consensus five-star prospect across 247Sports, ESPN, Rivals, and On3, Haralson is rated the No. 9 overall recruit in the class of 2025 by 247 as well as the No. 2 combo guard in the country and the No. 1 player in the state of Indiana. Haralson has been a starter since his high school career began, averaging 16.0 points per game as a freshman and leading Fishers to a 21-3 record. This past season as a sophomore, Haralson posted averages of 23.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game in his final year at Fishers.

Haralson's recruitment has only continued to take off on the summer basketball circuit.

UVA has gone on an offering spree this week, extending offers to six new recruits in the class of 2025 in the last five days. Virginia has now offered nine players in the recruiting class of 2025:
