Virginia added an athletic playmaker to its 2024 recruiting class on Wednesday as South Carolina linebacker Myles Brown announced his commitment to UVA.

A 6'4", 195-pound linebacker who plays at Ridge View in Columbia, South Carolina, Brown took multiple visits to UVA this year and picked up an offer from the Cavaliers on September 22nd when he was Charlottesville for Virginia's Friday night game against NC State. Virginia was the first Power Five school to offer Brown, who was primarily recruited by UVA defensive coordinator John Rudzinski and linebackers coach Clint Sintim.

Brown had offers from Army, Charlotte, Miami (OH), and South Carolina State and also took a visit to Clemson last week. Ultimately, Brown made his official commitment to Virginia on Wednesday, joining UVA's 2024 recruiting class.

In his junior season in 2022, Brown showed his versatility to rush the quarterback, stop the run, and drop back into coverage when necessary. Brown tallied 66 tackles, six sacks, 11 tackles for loss, eight pass deflections, one blocked punt, one interception, and a fumble recovery for a touchdown. So far in his senior season, Brown has continued to make impact plays all over the field for Ridge View. Watch some of his senior highlights in the video below:

With Brown's commitment, Virginia now has 13 verbal commits in its 2024 football recruiting class:
