Is WVU in Position to Land RB Eddie Love Jr.? He Discusses Visit Schedule + Decision Timeline

West Virginia impresses 2025 running back Eddie Love Jr.

The success of West Virginia’s run game under Neal Brown and Chad Scott is not going unnoticed. Recruits are impressed with the overall depth and production the Mountaineers have churned out in recent years, making it a desired destination for many across the country.

Class of 2025 running back Eddie Love Jr. (5’8”, 175 lbs) of Fort Walton Beach, Florida is one of those recruits who is heavily considering joining that talented group. A few days ago, he booked his official visit to WVU for June 7th-9th.

“I will say the relationship with the coaches I have is top tier. Anytime I talk to them I can just be myself. They’ve always been straight up,” Love told Mountaineers Now. “And the program itself is great, and as you know Coach Scott just had a freshman All-American.

“We just get on the phone and just start chatting it up. We could be talking football and the next thing you know, we start just talking about life. What impresses me about him is how he can develop you into a great back in a short matter of time like he did with one of his tight ends that moved to running back.”

Love’s trip to WVU in June will be his first and they’ll have a chance to set the tone for his summer recruitment, unless he schedules a visit elsewhere in the first weekend of the month. He’ll visit West Virginia first and follow it up with trips to Tulane (June 13-15) and Pitt (June 20-22). A decision will be made in July shortly after he goes through all of his official visits.

Other schools that have offered Love that could lock in an official visit are Appalachian State, Arkansas State, Florida Atlantic, Georgia Southern, Jacksonville State, Liberty, Louisiana, Southern Miss, Toledo, Troy, and South Florida.

As a junior, Love rusheed for 1,352 yards on 152 carries in addition to 193 receiving yards and 238 yards on kick returns. He had 15 total touchdowns.
